Die Vierte Industrielle Revolution
We do not know what the future holds. We do not know that really badly, really really badly. Even our best guess is really far off. This book shows it nicely.
It is written by Klaus Schwab, the founder and long-time chair of World Economic Forum. If anyone would know, he would, right? The whole book however, mentions AI only a little bit. It focuses on the potential of online platforms, 3D print and autonomous cars. It does not predict that in 10 years artificial intelligence would become the hottest topic.
The book is still wonderfully written. It has great macroscale observations. For example, it is pointed out that the highest valued companies nowadays have way fewer employees than before, meaning that power and wealth is concentrated among a smaller group of people.
I am curious to read in 10 years what we thought about AI in 2026, and what that means about how we treat technology. It is so fascinating how hard it is to predict.
